Session 1: God’s Compassion to Me, His Treasured Possession
We want to more clearly grasp from the scriptures how we are, indeed, our Lord’s most treasured possession, observing His incredible tender compassion toward us, His daughters. He spread that warmth upon His daughters in the days He walked this earth with them, and to those of us whom He journeys with in Spirit today. We will learn how we can enjoy the same kind of reciprocal communication and relationship today that the women of the Bible experienced so many years ago.
Session 2: Offering Emotional and Spiritual Compassion
Our heavenly Father compassionately dialogued with and cared for women of the Bible: Women like Hagar, the woman with the issue of blood, the woman at the well. We will observe what happens when women feel tender care, much like the kind the Lord Jesus offers. Healthy friendships, which includes warm connections over coffee cups, or mentoring by spending time together, are beautiful ways to invite each other deeper into their souls, and the healing heart of the Father.
Session 3: Showing Compassion in the Face of Loss
As we go through life, all of us face loss in one way or another. How do we in the middle of our own pain and brokenness reach out in compassion and show Jesus’ love to those going through difficult times? How do we walk alongside a friend or loved one for the duration of their journey of experiencing a loss? These are a few questions we will look at in this session as we keep in mind God’s sovereignty and His grace in the face of loss.
Session 4: Physical Compassion: A Cup of Cold Water in Jesus’ Name
We have all been the recipients of love in action at one time or another. Remember that special something someone did for you which ministered so deeply to your heart? How can we be the hands and feet of Jesus reaching out in practical ways to our sisters and those around us? How can we meet not only a physical need but also show true love?
