Creative Designs By Fern
Hi, I’m Fern!
I’ve always had an eye for the beauty of creatively designed pieces of word art, and was determined that someday I would make those beautiful pieces that you see in home decor stores. My husband, Dave, is a strong supporter of my design interests. He does all the website building, and the details like the financial part of it. Recently, we’ve been wanting to see how to make the best use of all the art I’ve created over the years. So we came up with the idea to provide home décor and clothing products that beautifully display art. We love that we can do this hobby/business adventure TOGETHER! Our 4-year-old son Jasper loves to pretend that he is also working on his computer and help along in his own way! 🙂 He brings us so much sunshine. Most of all, we are grateful to GOD for the gift of creativity, and it’s such a joy to bring others more of God’s Word into their homes through our Scripture verses and inspirational quotes.

Hopeful Things
I love to eat food and I love to create food. I love how food brings folks together around a table. I love how food can hold memories and tell a story.
My love for cooking began as a teenager and grew even more after I married my handsome husband, Joshua, who happens to love to eat too. Like my Dad said at our wedding, “we have the potential for a growing relationship.”
My journey has taught me that creating is really self-care. I don’t create to be noticed, I create because it’s who I am. I strive to use the gifts God has given me to glorify him.

Dressed Up Threads
Hi, I’m Faith Smith!
I first began sewing as a little girl designing dresses for my dolls. I began more seriously learning the art of sewing when I turned 15; I have sewn all of my dresses since then. In 2015 my friend and I opened a humble little pop-up shop called Dressed Up Threads in an old dairy parlor. Today I run Dressed Up Threads as a storefront in Dayton, Virginia, partnering with my sister, Hope’s kitchenware’s store, Hopeful Things. I currently reside in Faulks Run, Virginia, with my husband Loren and my three sons.

Daughters of Promise Ministry
Daughters of Promise Ministry began in 2010 as a simple monthly newsletter, emailed to a group of friends by Rachel Schrock (now Slabach). Having just come through a painful loss of a relationship and a broken right arm, Rae felt God nudging her to use her experiences and love of writing to encourage other women facing hard things.
Since those beginnings, Daughters of Promise has grown into a 128-page print publication for women of faith all over the U.S., Canada, and around the world. Our passion is to offer DOP as a place for women to share their stories and encourage one another in the ordinary, everyday journey of life. Each issue is centered around a theme word and features original articles, tutorials, recipes, photography, and illustration. It is printed on a textured, uncoated stock for a lovely coffee-table book feel.
In recent years, the ministry has expanded to include more than the magazine. Custom products in our shop, as well as various events that we host, are created to advance our mission to equip women for abundant, whole living through the knowledge of Christ.
- Email Devotionals: These are sent on first two Mondays of each month, and are written by a guest author on a topic that follows the theme of our current issue.
- “The Good Work” Resource: This digital magazine includes 20 articles on issues that are relevant for current issues facing women: racial reconciliation, church relationships, how to properly research information, knowing Jesus and following Him in the modern era, etc… This resource is automatically emailed to anyone who subscribes to our email devotionals. Sign up right over here.
- Brighter Winter Reading Program: This January 1 – February 28 we will host our 2nd annual BW Reading Program. Last year we had over 1200 readers of all ages participate! Brighter Winter is a fun way to break up the cold winter months and read more. It includes monthly challenges and prizes, custom bookish products for order, and one grand prize drawn at the end of the program. Learn more right here.
- Love Letter Initiative: This annual program takes place in May, around Mother’s Day, and is a care package ministry. Each year we select a certain category to bless with gifts and handwritten letters, which are written/collected on behalf of each recipient by the person who referred her to receive a package. This year’s Love Letter Initiative will focus on our single sisters. Learn more right here

FoxSparrow
Hi, I’m Megan Fox. Creator of FoxSparrow. Through my YouTube channel (Megan Fox Unlocked) I came in contact with many talented women who were making products from home and were wanting shout outs and exposure on my growing platform. I simply couldn’t help them all. I also knew many of my followers shared a love for beautiful yet useful handmade items. And so, FoxSparrow was born to help connect those two groups of people! We are currently an online shop selling all kinds of handmade lifestyle items that I’ve curated and even co-created with talented craftswomen. When you shop FoxSparrow you are helping to support moms, and to support their dreams of staying home with their children while supplementing the family income! Elegantorknot
Hi, I’m Ellie Knicely. My hobby is called “Elegantorknot”. I’m a freshman in high school and have ten siblings. I love making gifts for my friends and family, which is how I happened upon macrame. I find amazing the beauty one can create with string: a plethora of colors and a huge variety of knots, and some accessories to complement the string creations. The possibilities are endless! I especially enjoy making custom orders.
KJV Pottery
Pottery is not something I really set out to do but this is how it happened… In the fall of 2014, I took my two sons to visit an acquaintance who made pottery and we all enjoyed the day. I bought a potter’s wheel for “us” thinking pottery would be our new family hobby. However, I was the only one interested in working on it so I decided to set an example, and kept at it. I like to work with my hands, and the change of pace that it is from working at the computer or household tasks. Pottery has many spiritual analogies, with shaping each one and recycling the fails. The kiln fires it to over 2000 degrees to make it strong, beautiful, and useful. Those kinds of temperatures can either destroy or purify and strengthen. And glazing is an art all in itself! It goes on dull and drab and comes out a beautiful, vibrant color. Sometimes I engrave a word or phrase on the piece to bring to mind a powerful truth.
